Q. What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?
Matheson & Osman bookkeeping and business services are registered by the government to be BAS Agents. With this comes direct access to the ATO BAS Agents portal where we can communicate directly with the ATO on your behalf and electronically lodge your reporting requirements and access your ATO account and history. Directors Ellen & Sean Osman are both qualified accountants with over 10 years experience in small to medium business across a wide range of industries

Q.What makes your pricing competitive?
We offer a discounted rate for offsite services and also a 10% discount off the first month of service. Our pricing is very competitive for the quality of the service, experience and knowledge we provide. We often save clients $$$ correcting errors that we find! (we found over $1,800 as a gst refund for one of our client correcting errors from previous bookkeepers work)

We hold professional indemnity insurance and we guarantee our work. We are confident our work is always performed to the highest standards!

Q.What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?
getting the right level of service is important for a professional and supportive working relationship. In addition to experience and accreditation ask who will be your point of contact. Ask are they an employee and what happens if that employees leaves their firm...will a new person need to be trained to deal with your accounts? Ask about their time billing methods also - you will find larger firms / employees are required to calculate and charge our every 7 minutes.

I have many clients that can verify my work and ethics are of the highest integrity. I pride myself on my work and with the responsibility of dealing with confidential financials, i also pride myself on my ethics and honesty. I encourage transparency, authorization processes and double checking on sensitive tasks if needed.

Q. How did you decide to get into your line of work?
I worked as a finance manager many years in small business - hospitality industry, retail, events, shopping center, executive apartment rentals. I love working in small business and helping a business flourish. We launched our bookkeeping service in 2010 which started simply by word of mouth and referrals and we have enjoyed focusing our skills on the bookkeeping and accounting for our clients.
